UAV LIDAR Power Inspection

PROJECT SUMMARY:

Linke & Linke Surveys created a Digital Model of powerlines which were difficult to access due to thick vegetation and unstable terrain. With traditional survey methods unsuitable, UAV and LIDAR survey technology was used to complete an accurate Point Cloud. The data compiled from the survey will be used by the GIS team.

 

The information extracted from the Digital Model:

 

  • Power line type

  • Power line diameter

  • Power line height

  • Power line location

  • Power line head clearance

  • Power line overhang of property boundaries

  • Power line diameter

  • Power line sag

  • Clash with power lines or trees encroachment
