PROJECT SUMMARY:
Linke & Linke Surveys created laser scans and models of over 200 Radar Beacons within the operating container terminal in Port Botany. As the terminal could not be shut down, coordination with management was required for safe installation and positioning while the terminal was still active.
The project features the collection of accurate positional and orientation data for management of the terminal by surveying:
Position and orientation of each beacon to be surveyed once installed
to be input into automation software to produce constellation
Laser Scanner and 3D modelling of each radar beacon
Laser Scanner fixed to top of Straddle Crane and moved throughout site
Final Tolerance +/-5mm
