UAV / LIDAR Survey, QLD 2017
PROJECT SUMMARY:
Linke & Linke Surveys created a Digital Elevation Model of the Karana Downs area, which was previously inaccessible due to thick vegetation and unstable terrain. With traditional survey methods unsuitable, UAV and LIDAR survey technology was used to complete an accurate ground data extraction survey of the 45,000m2 area.
The data compiled from the survey will be used by the GIS team at Brisbane City Council to assess:
Land erosion, accretion
Slope stability
Proximity to adjoining land owners.
In the future this survey technique may be revisited for fast, safe and cost effective land assessment including post-storm event assessment.
